On December 11, Cam Jordan’s God Iz Love Foundation joined forces with Youth Empowerment Project NOLA (YEP) for a charitable sneaker giveaway event at Sneaker Politics on Chartres Street.

The evening, intended to spread positivity and provide sneakers to over 30 children, took a distressing turn when gunshots erupted outside the venue.

Jordan, the New Orleans Saints’ defensive end, took to social media, expressing his disbelief and concern about the incident.

In a tweet posted on X (formerly Twitter), he shared his mixed emotions about the situation.

“Didn’t know how to feel about it… greeeat event last night, 30+ kids at my event gifting them sneakers… reinforcing positivity and having a great time… ignorance and stupidity struck when some argument outside of Politics elevated to extremes and gunshots went off.”

Jordan assured that none of the children, staff, or anyone present at Sneaker Politics were injured in the shooting.

However, he expressed his deep sadness that the kids had to experience such a terrifying situation.

“Still sad these kids were in this situation. God bless take care ya ppl.”

According to reports, the unfortunate incident stemmed from a fight inside Legendairy, a nearby milkshake bar next to Sneaker Politics.

The altercation inside the bar escalated into a shooting, causing multiple bullet holes through the front of Legendairy.

Despite the rattling experience, Cam Jordan remains thankful that none of his people were directly affected by the gunfire.

Cam Jordan, selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round (24th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft, has had an impressive career.

With 193 games played and 191 starts, Jordan has accumulated notable stats, including 115.5 quarterback takedowns, 2 interceptions, 60 passes defensed, 15 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries, and 116 sacks.

His performance has earned him eight Pro Bowl selections, with three in 2018, and two All-Pro team nominations.

Jordan holds the distinction of being the sole player in the NFL with at least 7.5 sacks in 11 consecutive seasons.
