The Raiders had almost forgotten about former coach Josh McDaniels after a decent run but their 3-0 loss to the Vikings has brought the team shuddering back to earth.
Under interim head coach Antonio Pierce, the side string together a few good performances but that was like adding glue to a broken waterslide.
Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams is embarrassed after the shocking offensive performance.
“I mean, it’s embarrassing,” Adams told Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com.
“Not that that’s the main thing that drives it, but you walk off that field and you’ve got a lot of fans that pay their money to come to see you play and you go up and put up a goose egg.
“It almost looked worse that they only scored three, too. You’ve seen plenty of teams win, 20, 22-0, whatever, but when the other team wins by three and they only score three, it just looks horrible. So, hopefully we don’t make any more history like that on this side.”
Adams caught 7-10 passes in the loss and gained 54 yards.
The Raiders site bottom of the AFC West, on 5-8 and will need to win their last remaining games to stand the slimmest hope of playoff qualification.
