Back up quarterback at the Chargers Easton Stick will get his first NFL start this week against the Raiders.
Stick got a bit of game time when he replaced the injured Justin Herbert against the Broncos in a 24-7 losing game.
He threw for 13-24 for 179 yards and did not look out of place.
His last start for any team came back in 2019 when he led North Dakota against Eastern Washington.
He was drafted at 166th in the 2019 draft and is a four time FCS champion at college.
“Obviously, this isn’t how I envisioned it,” Stick told Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times.
“When they selected me five years ago, this is what you want as a kid — an opportunity to go play. I’m excited for that.”
What an opportunity for Stick, to lead the Chargers to a win over the Raiders, that is what dreams are made of.
