“didn’t even act like he’s trying to block here” Steelers’ George Pickens Faces Criticism for Lackluster Effort, Alleged Loafing Instead of Blocking in Recent Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently standing in the season with a 7-7 score and recently lost to the Indianapolis Colts with a concluding score of 30-13. With the loss, the Steelers have encountered a pivotal loss at such a stage in the season.

However, one of the players who has recently received criticism from the NFL community is wide receiver George Pickens. According to Pro Football Talk, Pickens was standing during a crucial moment when he should have been blocking.

It was during a particular play when running back Jaylen Warren was running to score the touchdown. However, due to some reason, the wide receiver did not block the Colts members who were blocking Warren’s path. If Pickens had blocked them, the Steelers would have scored a point.

As per PFT via Kevin Clark, of TheRinger earlier stated, “So every time I’m out there, that’s why I throw the blocks. I love getting the ball, and when I’m not getting the ball I play angry so the attention is back on me. I basically draw attention to myself.”

According to WSAV, the same action was repeated by Pickens during the Steelers’ loss to the New England Patriots. It was during Thursday Night Football and he was seen making no effort during one of the plays.

The community picked up on the fact that Pickens could have helped Warren by blocking but that did not happen. Pickens was seen standing at a determining point and for that, he received criticism from fans.
