The San Francisco train keeps rolling and star quarterback Brock Purdy is as humble as he is great at line calling.
The probable league MVP is trying to turn attention away from his exploits and onto running back Christian McCaffrey.
The RB ran for 115 yards in the team’s 45-25 win over the Cardinals in week 15 to take them to 11-3 league winning number one seeds.
“Dude, I think Christian should be MVP,” Purdy told 49ersWebzone.com. “I really do believe that. He does everything for us, runs the ball well, can catch the ball. He does everything. And so in my eyes, that’s an MVP.”
Purdy three for 242 yards, four touchdowns and went for 16-25 and is in pole position to see off the likes of Dak Prescott of the Cowboys and Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs as the league MVP.
The 49ers needed a McCaffrey touchdown with 1.14 on the clock before half time to pull away from the plucky Cardinals, who were hanging in at that stage trailing 13-14.
San Francisco next play the other 11-3 team in the Ravens in what should he the league decider.
Purdy and McCaffrey will need to fire against a Baltimore team who have only conceded 225 points all season.
