The four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins has reportedly reached an agreement to join the Taiwan Beer Leopards of the T1 League, Taiwanese men’s professional basketball.
According to the BR report, CEO Johnny Chang said in a press release, "We"re confident that with [Cousins"s] all-around skills, he"ll bring a totally new chemistry to the Leopards".
Cousins was drafted in the NBA in 2010 as first round’s fifth overall pick. He was picked up by the Sacramento Kings and he was with them from 2010 to 2017. He then joined Pelicans, Warriors, Rockets, Clippers, Bucks, and then the Nuggets.
He will join the Leopards in January 2024 and will make his debut on January 20th. His last appearance in the NBA was with the Denver Nuggets. He also recently played with the Guaynabo Mets of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional League in Puerto Rico. He was instrumental in leading the team to the semifinals of the playoff tournament.
The talented player, Cousins, suffered an Achilles tear during the 2017-18 season. He was a prominent player when he was playing for the New Orleans Pelicans. His average with the squad was 25.2 points.
After suffering the Achilles injury, he was not able to come back to his form. He once again suffered the same injury in 2019, when he was with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Unfortunately, Cousins could not have his career back after suffering injuries during a pivotal time in his career. Nevertheless, the prominent player is expected to achieve great feats in the T1 League.
