On Sunday, December 18, 2023, the Dallas Cowboys suffered a blowout defeat, losing 31-10 to the Buffalo Bills.

This ended the Cowboys’ five-game winning streak and brought their road record to 3-4.

Even though the Cowboys already booked their ticket to the playoffs, this defeat kicked them down a notch in the NFC seed race. Imagine securing a VIP spot in the club but tripping on the red carpet.

The Cowboys, historically having lost 411 games, have now lost three games this season.

Sports columnist and commentator, Skip Bayless expressed strong criticism of the Cowboys on X, formerly Twitter, calling them “fraudulent,” “pretenders,” and “home-product phonies.”

He suggested that their performance might not be as strong as it seemed, raising doubts about their ability to succeed in the playoffs.

And he didn’t stop there – he took a swing at Dak Prescott, the Cowboys’ golden boy, by giving him a new title: “MVP… Most Valuable Pretender.”

Burn!

The game’s statistics revealed the Bills’ dominance, as they rushed for 266 yards, held the ball for 10 minutes longer than Dallas, and secured 28 first downs compared to the Cowboys’ 14.

Prescott had a challenging day, finishing with 21 completions out of 34 attempts for 134 yards and an interception.

Buffalo’s James Cook had a standout performance, rushing for a career-best 179 yards and scoring twice, contributing to the Bills’ victory and ending the Cowboys’ winning streak.

Despite Bills quarterback Josh Allen throwing for only 94 yards, Buffalo secured consecutive wins for the first time in a while, positioning themselves well in the AFC playoff race.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys will face the Miami Dolphins next Sunday, while the Bills will take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night.
