Seattle Seahawks defensive back Julian Love is no stranger to facing the Philadelphia Eagles. After spending the first four seasons of his career with their divisional rival New York Giants, Love has seen the Eagles plenty throughout his career and it showed during ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Love made plays all over the field, including the game-sealing interception.
In the final seconds of the game, the Eagles trailed 20-17 and had the ball near midfield when quarterback Jalen Hurts uncorked a deep pass to wide receiver A.J. Brown for what would’ve been a near 40-yard completion to put the Eagles in field goal range and potentially to the game. However, Love had other plans.
Love was in coverage on the other side of the field, but noticed the ball was sailing in the air to Brown and ran towards the ball to break up the play. He didn’t only break the play up, but he also came down with the game-sealing interception with an incredible toe-tapping catch along the sideline.
After the game, Love was asked about the play, and he made it clear that he had his eyes on Brown throughout the entire play. "I just had a good feeling that they were going to go to number 11 [Brown]," Love said per the team’s official website. "I saw the ball floating, and I must be living right, because I got my feet in, thankfully," Love added.
Love finished the game with two interceptions, two pass deflections, and nine combined tackles. His incredible effort helped get the Seahawks back to .500 while keeping their playoff hopes alive.
