The New England Patriots are currently occupying the fourth spot in the AFC East division. Among their last four matches, they lost three and won one. They lost against the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, and Kansas City Chiefs and won against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Patriots, despite having a season with ups and downs, have been alternating between two quarterbacks, Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones. They both have been struggling with their plays throughout the season and the Patriots have not been able to choose the better one from the two of them. Currently, the team is counting on both of them.
Is there anything Mac Jones can do to get another opportunity this season?

The Patriots offensive coordinator, Bill O"Brien, was recently asked if Jones could be given another possibility in this season and he shared according to Pro Football Talk via Dakota Randall of NESN, "I think everybody’s gotta be ready to play — especially in the situation that we’re in. I really do. I think that everybody has to be ready to go. Anybody that’s on the 53-man roster really has to go out on the practice field and practice well and earn a shot to play."
"So, and I know that you’ve heard that from Bill [Belichick] — but that’s the truth. Like, you have to be ready to go. Because if you practice really well, you’re gonna have a real shot to play. So, I think that goes for every position."
The Patriots were not able to secure any spot in the playoff contention and now they are looking further to improve their lineup to play in the concluding games of the season.
