On the latest episode of Greeny with ESPN analyst Domonique Foxworth, former NFL coach Rex Ryan dropped a bombshell about his recent getaway.

As per Ryan, he and his wife once embarked on a trip to Cancun, but things took an unexpected turn.

As the couple prepared to board their flight, a rather peculiar issue arose — their dogs were barred from accompanying them due to one of them exhibiting a “new cough," presumably linked to a recent canine respiratory ailment.

Faced with the dilemma of leaving their furry companions behind, Ryan"s wife made the responsible choice of returning home with the dogs.

However, Rex Ryan decided to take a different route.

Instead of joining his wife on the return journey, he opted for a Cancun retreat solo.

When questioned about his decision on the show, Ryan unabashedly explained:

“I went down to Cancun… I’m the third wheel on the thing, but I’m sitting back there and drinking beer and laying [down], having a good time in the ocean and enjoying the sun. Of course! That’s what every man would do who’s been married for 37 years!"

Well, Ryan as the carefree husband seized an unexpected opportunity for a solo adventure.

Ryan and Michelle met at Southwestern Oklahoma State. The duo got engaged when Ryan accepted a Graduate Assistant Position at Eastern Kentucky and proposed to Michelle over the phone. Ryan and Michelle tied the knot in 1987. The couple has two sons, Seth and Payton.

Rex Ryan is a retired NFL coach and current ESPN analyst with a coaching career spanning from 1994 to 2016.

He served as an NFL head coach for eight years, initially with the New York Jets from 2009 to 2014 and later with the Buffalo Bills in 2015 and 2016. Throughout his two-decade coaching tenure, Ryan"s teams achieved a combined record of 164 wins and 156 losses.

His most successful coaching period was with the Jets, leading them to consecutive AFC Championship appearances in 2009 and 2010.

Since 2017, Rex Ryan has been contributing as an analyst for ESPN.
