In a recent interview with "The Pivot," Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens spilled the details on how he and his wife and gymnastics star Simone Biles connected on the dating app Raya.

Owens, who was new to Houston, where he played for the Texans, joined Raya on a friend"s suggestion during the COVID lockdown.

Apparently, Biles, messaged him on the app, surprising Owens, who didn"t know about her gymnastic fame initially.

"She messaged me on the app like, ‘Hey,’ and I’m like, ‘Man, that’s got to be fake,’" he said. "I didn’t know who she was at the time, but the first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of [Instagram] followers. So in my mind, I’m like, ‘OK, she’s got to be good.’"

Owens clarified that he missed Biles" Olympic triumph in college due to limited access to NBC and Olympic channels during football camp.

Despite his initial skepticism, Biles and Owens started chatting, leading to their first hangout. Biles drove 45 minutes from her Texas suburb to Houston for their date, and as Owens put it, “the rest is history."

Owens later joked about being the ‘catch," leading to some backlash from Biles" fans.

Following the social, Owens shared a romantic photo with Biles on social media, captioned “unbothered, Just know we locked in over here."

Biles responded in the comments with “Locked for life."

In February 2022, Jonathan Owens proposed to Simone Biles on Valentine"s Day, and the couple officially announced their engagement on Instagram on February 15. Biles enthusiastically shared her joy with the caption “THE EASIEST YES."

After two years of dating, the couple decided to take the next step and tied the knot on April 22, 2023, at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, Texas.

They chose to share the news of their marriage on Instagram over a week after obtaining their marriage license on April 15.

To celebrate their union, the couple hosted a second wedding ceremony in Mexico, complete with a lavish reception attended by their close friends.

On May 12, 2023, Jonathan Owens inked a one-year deal with the Green Bay Packers, valued at $1,010,000.

The contract stipulates an average annual salary matching the total figure.

Owens, assuming the role of a defensive back, transitioned to the Packers for the 2023 season, having spent the preceding three years with the Houston Texans.

Originating as an undrafted free agent in 2018, he has since evolved into a prominent starter in the NFL.

This season, making his debut with the Green Bay Packers, his statistics incude 47 solo tackles, ranking 101st in the league.

Additionally, he forced one fumble, securing the 69th position in that category.

However, his interception tally remained at zero, placing him beyond the top 150.

Furthermore, he registered a solitary pass deflection, also ranking beyond the top 150 in that aspect.

The Green Bay Packers won a really important game against the Carolina Panthers with a score of 33-30.

This win is crucial for their chances of making it to the playoffs in the 2023 season.

Right now, they have a 7-8 record and are tied with the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, and New Orleans Saints.

To secure a spot in the playoffs, the Packers need to win their last two games against the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears, finishing the season at 9-8.

However, it"s not just about their wins; they also need certain other teams in the NFC to lose some of their remaining games.

Specifically, they"re hoping for losses by the Falcons, Saints, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks.

Even if the Rams and Seahawks win all their remaining games, the Packers can still make the playoffs by winning at least one of their games and hoping for losses by the Saints and Falcons.

With only two weeks left in the regular season, every game is super important for the Packers and other NFC teams trying to make the playoffs.

The results of games involving the Seahawks, Rams, Falcons, and Saints will have a big impact on the Packers" playoff chances.

Keep an eye on the Falcons facing the Bears and the Saints taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17; those games will add even more uncertainty to the NFC playoff race.
