The Broncos have replaced regular quarterback Russell Wilson with Jarrett Stidham for their clash with the Chargers.
Head coach Sean Payton has decided to make the switch for competitive reasons, as well as economics.
Wilson could have played his last Denver game in the 26-23 defeat to the Patriots.
New QB and former Patriots player Stidham is excited to get on the park, the first time he starts since helping the Raiders for their final two games of the 2022 season following an injury to Derek Carr.
“I don’t think I need to overthink it. Just do what I’m coached to do,” Stidham told the team’s website.
“We have a great staff. A great group of guys around me so I’m just going to do my job to the best of my ability, do the certain things I need to do each and every play and move the ball down the field and hopefully score a lot of points and get a win.”
In week 18 the Broncos take on the Raiders in what could their final game of 2023 and Stidham could line up against his old team.
