Replacing the legendary Tom Brady isn"t an easy task, but Baker Mayfield has rolled up his sleeves to take on the challenge.
Assuming the mantle as the new quarterback for the Buccaneers, he has accepted the challenge with open arms.
The Buccaneers stand a chance to seal the NFC South with a defeat of the Falcons this upcoming Sunday.
Mayfield, in his Wednesday press briefing, portended that clinching the division at home, especially against a divisional pint-sized opponent, is an accomplishment that would mean “a ton."

"The things we’ve had to do and go through to get to this point — it means quite a bit when you look at having to rattle off this many in a row and having to do it again at home," Mayfield said. "It’s a great opportunity for us and just the beginning of where we eventually want to get to."
He has been through a rough 2022. After terms with the Browns, Panthers, and Rams, Mayfield finally found his footing with the Buccaneers.
His performances in recent times have been nothing short of spectacular and are indicative of his mounting form.
He has completed 64 passes, piled 3,598 yards with 26 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions.
"I feel good. Yeah, I feel really good about where I’m at, seeing the field," Mayfield said. "Obviously, playing quarterback, each rep you can take things away from it. [You’re] continuing to learn and improve on it. So yeah, I think just being in the system for a bit now and getting comfortable with it, that’s what happens. Once you get comfortable in the system, you can truly grow and see the improvements and I think that’s where we’re at right now."
With Sunday"s clash against the Falcons on the horizon, this would be the ultimate test for Mayfield and the Buccaneers.
A victory here would mean more than just clinching the NFC South division.
