In a quirky twist to college football traditions, West Virginia"s head coach, Neal Brown, experienced an unconventional celebration after his team"s 30-10 triumph over North Carolina in the Duke"s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte.
Rather than the usual Gatorade bath, Coach Brown found himself drenched in mayonnaise, a unique postgame ritual that has become a staple since Duke took over sponsorship of the bowl three years ago. The game, previously known as the Continental Tire Bowl, Meineke Car Care Bowl, and Belk Bowl, has embraced this mayo-filled celebration.

West Virginia"s victory featured standout plays, including Traylon Ray"s 75-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Garrett Greene and Beanie Bishop"s 78-yard punt return for a touchdown.
Despite the unusual celebration, Coach Brown gladly accepted his fate as his team finished the season with a 9-4 record. This mayo tradition was also seen last year when Maryland"s Taulia Tagovailoa led his team to a 16-12 victory over North Carolina State, earning Terps head coach Mike Locksley his own mayonnaise shower.
