Joe Flacco was getting some love from Cleveland Browns fans on Thursday night. The 38-year-old ignited the Jets with 309 yards rushing and three touchdowns, leading the Browns to a 37-20 victory and a berth in the playoffs. Mosley, Flacco’s teammate, Gang Green and Ravens.
The Jets quarterback admired his former teammate as they embraced on the field and Mosley watched in disbelief as Flacco’s name was chanted across Cleveland.
After 11 years with the Ravens, Flacco left Cleveland for Baltimore in 1996 and emerged as a new-generation Browns threat, going 18-3 during his tenure.
The point guard said in September that he was “still playing” but hadn’t received any calls from the Jets or other teams. But when the Browns had injuries to Deshaun Watson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Flacco got the call from Cleveland and was able to handle the job.
Flacco threw for over 300 yards in four straight games, helping the Browns become the first team to make the playoffs after starting four different seasons. After one of Joe Flacco’s big plays, his former teammates cracked a joke during the game press conference.
New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley, who played with Flacco on the Baltimore Ravens, reached out to Flacco after the Cleveland Browns defeated the Jets 37-20 on Thursday, hoping to Reunion.
Mosley joked with Flacco that he didn’t expect to hear Browns fans chant Flacco’s name after a big game.
“Who would have thought the Browns would call your name? That’s crazy,”
Mosley said.
Flacco signed with the Browns in November and led Cleveland to four wins in his five starts. On Thursday, he caught the Browns’ second quarterback in 21 years with two passes for 309 yards. The Browns tackled Flacco, who played 11 years in Baltimore.
Things have changed this season, and Browns fans chanted his name on Thursday. Now, the Browns will be in the playoffs for the first time since 2020 and the second time since 2002. Cleveland has struggled this season, but now that the fourth seed is settled, Flacco hopes to lead the Browns into the playoffs.

Former Ravens stars are at risk of missing the remainder of their first season with their new team. New York Jets inside linebacker C.J. is expected to play. Mosley will miss the next five to six weeks with a groin injury, while Denver Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco could be out for an extended period with a herniated disc in his neck. Jets coach Adam Gase and Broncos coach Vic Fangio provided injury updates on Monday.
He missed the next four games, but returned for the team’s Week 7 game against the New England Patriots. Due to Mosley’s recent injury progression, he is scheduled to return in Week 15 of “Thursday Night Football” when the Ravens host the Jets, but the Jets could elect to exclude Mosley for the rest of the year if they are eliminated in the playoffs. Competition has been eliminated.
The Ravens were close to re-acquiring a third-round draft pick in exchange for Mosley, but Mosley signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the Jets in the offseason, the largest ever for an inside linebacker at the time. It was the amount. That was the deal. The NFL was like that too.
Mosley has missed more games in one season with the Jets (5) than he has missed in all five seasons with the Ravens (3).
“We’re a 2-6 football team right now, and we’re almost scared to go through two minutes of practice,”
Flacco said after the game.
‘Again, we’re a 2-6 soccer team and we’re scared of losing games.”
Flacco has yet to miss a game in his first season with the Broncos. The 34-year-old returned to the field at the beginning of the 2016-17 season and started all 32 regular-season games over the next two years but suffered a hip injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers last season that saw him make his final appearance.

there's no denying that he played a solid game and gave his new team a chance to win. But while it may have been strange to see Flacco in a Browns uniform, there's no denying that he played a solid game and gave his new team a chance to win.

Happy for Flacco even as a Jets fan I wish the Browns can make a playoff run since they took advantage of the momentum and picked the best for them in the short term, the whole Jets organization is a mess and this L just shows the neglect of the front office
