Four years ago the Ravens were the number one seed going into the final week of 2019, and Lamar Jackson is once again up for league MVP.
Fans may be superstitious, or even cautions but the coaching team and players believe they can put to rest there loss to the Titans in the then Divisional playoff game.
"It’s different from this season; it’s a different team; different circumstances; different, everything except the record is about the same and the bye," Harbaugh said this week.
Jackson won the MVP that season, afyer signing as the 32nd overall pick in 2018 but he is looking destined to lead the Ravens to more success, as a strong defense and a smart offense has seen them dominate much of the season.
"I remember the experience and the choices we made, but the decisions we made, we made for certain reasons, and we thought they were the right decision. What impacted what [and] how in terms of us not playing our best football that day, it’s really hard to say what the cause and effect was. We just didn’t. We didn’t go out there, and we didn’t do it.
One key decision ahead of their week 18 clash against the Steelers is who to rest, and who to start, with Harbaugh not wanting to lose momentum while also protecting his stars. Jackson will play, but some key players could be putting their feet up.
“That’s the thing I kind of take from it the most. Of course, you want to be better. We have to play way better than that next game if we want to win, and we do want to win. But you have to look at everything from the framework or through the lens of today – this team and the challenges that we’re facing – and that’s what we’ll try to do."
The Steelers are out of contention and will have nothing but Pittsburgh pride to play for, so why risk an injury, and a repeat of 2019?
