Top-seeded the Michigan Wolverines have defeated the No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide with a concluding score of 27-20. The Wolverines, led by head coach Jim Harbaugh, remain undefeated and will be heading to the finals of the College Football Playoff Championship match against the Washington Huskies.

The four-time HHSAA Open state champion, Roman Wilson, scored one touchdown catch for the squad. After two plays, Wilson once again made a crucial, soaring 29-yard red-zone catch that was converted into a touchdown. He caught four passes for 73 yards.

According to Spectrum News, Harbaugh, after the pivotal win, shared, “Glorious. That was glorious. It was a tremendous football game.”

Wilson also shared, “Love this team, God is always great.”

Michigan star quarterback J.J. McCarthy ended the victorious game by passing for 221 yards and three touchdowns. He also won the Offensive Player of the Game award.

Nick Saban, Alabama’s head coach, also expressed after his squad lost a crucial game, “We just didn’t finish the last four minutes of the game like we would like to, and we’re all very disappointed. But one thing I told them in the locker room, this is one of the most amazing seasons in Alabama football history in terms of where this team came from and what they were able to accomplish.”

Harbaugh further shared, “If ever a game was going to be won up front, it was going to be won with toughness and physicality. Our guys were just there in rhythm and got it done. Epic game. Epic game. The stick-togetherness — I guess what people don’t know, how could they know, what the togetherness is like? There’s just nothing that can separate these guys.”

Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, keeping in mind the incredible victory the Wolverines collected over Alabama, shared, “You put the faith in your players and trust their training, and when the game’s on the line, you let them go play fast and don’t overthink it. The game comes down to the last play. We’re going after him, and that’s what we’re able to do. So proud of our guys for the win.”
