The Seattle Kraken put on one of the best performances in NHL Winter Classic history at T-Mobile Park on Monday.
Members of Pike Place Market threw fish on players’ heads as the Kraken players took the ice before taking on the Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights.

Seattle native rapper Sir-Mix-a-Lot raised the bar by throwing fish over his head while performing his 1996 hit “Jump on It.”
That's one way to make an entrance. 😅🐟 #WinterClassic

The Seattle Kraken are a professional ice hockey team based in Seattle.
The Kraken compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Western Conference’s Pacific Division and begin play in the 2021-22 league season.
In December 2018, the NHL approved Seattle Hockey Partners’ request for an expansion permit in the City of Seattle.
The Kraken are the first professional hockey team to play in Seattle since the Western Hockey League’s Seattle Totems played their last game in 1975, and the first to contend since the Seattle Metropolitans Seattle team in the Stanley Cup in the Year 1975, who won the cup in 1917 and disbanded in 1924.
The Vegas Golden Knights are an ice hockey team based in the city of Las Vegas. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Western Conference’s Pacific Division.
The Golden Knights were established as an expansion team in 2017 and were the first sports team to represent Las Vegas.
Their home games are played at T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada.
The Golden Knights are one of the few teams to achieve quick success, reaching the Stanley Cup Finals in their first four seasons and reaching the Stanley Cup Finals in their first season.
Their 13-game winning streak heading into the 2018 Stanley Cup Final was the most by any team in a playoff opener.
Anthony L. Ray (born August 12, 1963), better known by his stage name Sir Mix-a-Lot or his CB handle Prime Minista, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer.
He is best known for his 1992 hit song “Baby Got Back”, which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2023, the Golden Knights returned to the Stanley Cup Finals and defeated the Florida Panthers in five games to win their first Stanley Cup championship.
Seattle beat Vegas 3-0 to win the annual outdoor exhibition game. This brings the Kraken’s winning streak to five games.
Fans had this to say:
Imagine getting drilled in the head with a fish when you’re heading out to play some puck?

These games have become a joke. The average person has no idea who anyone on either of these teams are. I’ve followed hockey my entire life, and only Eichel and Stone come to mind. 🤦♂️

Real fish as props? If so that’s gross.
