Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper has been hit with a hefty $300,000 fine by the NFL for his actions during a recent game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The league deemed Tepper’s behavior as “unacceptable conduct.”

Apparently, on Tuesday, the Panthers played poorly against the Jaguars and lost 26-0.

As the game was coming to an end, Tepper, who owns the Panthers, became really frustrated, especially when the Jaguars’ rookie quarterback, Bryce Young, made a significant play by intercepting the ball.

Tepper, feeling disappointed, threw a drink into the crowd at the stadium to express his annoyance.

The NFL didn’t approve of Tepper’s actions and fined him $300,000.

They stated that everyone associated with the NFL, including team owners, is expected to behave in a way that respects the fans and reflects positively on their team and the league.

As reported by ESPN, David Tepper, realizing he made a mistake, issued a statement expressing regret for his behavior.

“I should have let NFL stadium security handle any issues that arose,” he said. “I respect the NFL’s code of conduct and accept the League’s discipline for my behavior,” said Tepper.

He acknowledged that he is passionate about his team but admitted that he should have let the stadium security handle any issues that arose. He also mentioned that he respects the NFL’s code of conduct and accepts the league’s punishment for his actions.

David Tepper acquired the Carolina Panthers from the original owner, Jerry Richardson, in May 2018. Despite this change in ownership, the team’s performance has been disappointing, marked by a 30-63 win-loss record and the appointment of six different head coaches since 2018.

Tepper has faced criticism for being considered one of the NFL’s least successful owners, as the Panthers have faced a decline in their fortunes under his stewardship.
