The Titans have not enjoyed the best of seasons and remain the only team not to stand a chance of progressing to the playoffs in a tight AFC South Division.
The Jaguars, Colts and Texans all stand a chance of earning a playoff spot with the 5-11 Titans taking on Jacksonville in week 18.
The only consolation for head coach Mike Vrabel is to stop divisional rivals Jacksonville a shot at the title, as well as end the season on a high.
“It f—— sucks — losing," he said, having gone from a rather downtrodden manner to an impassioned one. “Awful. That"s why I want to win [on Sunday]. Because you don"t sleep. You want to win for the players that bust their tail, that"s it. It"s not about, ‘We"ll go into the offseason with a good note." Nobody knows what you did on Jan. 7th or 8th or 6th in April when you come back.
Vrabel quickly apologized for his language ahead of the game and this is worst season of his six year tenure, with four playoff appearances in his time.
“But, you want to see it just all come together. Just put four quarters together, win a game."
He was not looking too far into the future regarding his own future at the franchise saying, “I"m not ready to talk about our future or anybody else other than what"s happening this week with Jacksonville.
“I think at the right time we"ll be able to try to have those conversations. I really just want us to finish strong."
This could also be a special game for Tennessee"s running back Derrick Henry, who surpassed 1,000+ points for the first successive season.
