Connor Bedard’s first season in the NHL is making history.
The young forward for the Chicago Blackhawks has just been named to the NHL’s All-Star Game roster, becoming the youngest All-Star pick ever at just 18 years and 171 days old (201 days old when the game happens). This breaks the previous record held by Jeff Skinner, who was 18 years and 259 days old at the 2011 All-Star Game.

Bedard, chosen as the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, has been impressive in his 37 games for the Blackhawks, scoring 15 goals and providing 18 assists. He’s leading the team in both categories and spending an average of 19 minutes and 30 seconds on the ice per game, the most among the team’s forwards.
Recognizing his outstanding performance, Bedard was named the league’s Rookie of the Month for both November and December.
The upcoming 2024 NHL All-Star Game is set to happen at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Feb. 3, with the skills competition scheduled for Feb. 2 and the All-Star Draft on Feb. 1. Notably, the player who performs the best in the skills competition stands to earn a cool $1 million.
