WATCH: Spurs teammates celebrate Victor Wembanyama’s 20th birthday

Victor Wembanyama celebrated his 20th birthday for the first time in San Antonio with his Spurs teammates in training.

In a video posted to the team’s X page (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Wenbanyama is surrounded by teammates serenading the 7-foot-4 phenom.

Victor Wenbanyama turned 20 on Thursday. Teammates celebrated his special day by singing “Happy Birthday” during training.

San Antonio Spurs players surprised the 7-foot-4 rookie on the court… “Long live, Hip hip hooray!” the players chanted.

Wenbanyama received another wonderful present on his birthday. It was announced that he received over 221,000 votes so far to participate in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.

Wemby averaged 18.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and set several NBA records before his 20th birthday, including surpassing Dwight Howard’s record for consecutive double-doubles (8).

Today marks a milestone day for Victor Wembanyama, a rising star in the San Antonio basketball world as he celebrates his 20th birthday.

Spurs team-mates celebrated his birthday in style, adding a bit of fun to training sessions.

Although he didn’t have any notable wins, Wenbanyama had a great rookie season and set many NBA records for teenagers.

But the most important gift he could receive is a fourth-year guard as the Spurs deal with some injury issues. This means Tre Jones will be guaranteed his first start of the season.

With limited time on the court together this season, Tre and Victor developed impressive chemistry.

With their on-field synergy statistically backed up, Jones played 309 minutes with Wenbanyama this season, raising the team’s net rating to +3.58 and posting an impressive offensive rating of 114.8, according to PBP stats.

Tre also had 24 assists for Victor, averaging one assist in 12 minutes, 52 minutes of play, leading the team in that regard. On this special birthday night, expect Jones to head to Wembanyama to take on the Milwaukee Bucks.

For San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, his 20th birthday coincided with the day he and his teammates hosted the Milwaukee Bucks.

It’s not that the Spurs have a small chance to celebrate the victory tonight, but considering the time the two teams have and the experience of the Bucks’ roster, it can be said the bucks are better than the winning team in 2021 NBA playoffs.

It looks like the Spurs’ 6th win will come on Thursday night.

The injury report released this evening said that big man Zach Collins is still out with a right ankle injury, point guard Malachi Branham is also doubtful with a right ankle injury, and kicker Doug McDermott doubted due to right forearm contusion (bruise).

The Bucks have won nine of their last 11 games, including a 132-119 victory over the Spurs in December. On the 19th, Spurs did not play Wembanyama due to a leg injury.

Wemby became eligible for the NBA Draft on April 21, 2023, where all projections placed him as the number one pick.

On June 22, the San Antonio Spurs selected him as the first pick of the 2023 Draft.

He made his NBA debut on October 25, as a starter against the Dallas Mavericks, where he recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds.

On December 8 against the Chicago Bulls, at 19 years and 338 days old, he became the youngest player in NBA history to score more than 20 points and 20 rebounds in a single game, surpassing Dwight Howard by only four days.

Dwight and Victor are the only players under the age of 20 to have accomplished such a feat.

The rookie averaged 18.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. The San Antonio Spurs (5-28) face the Milwaukee Bucks (24-10)
