Bears quarterback Justin Fields may have played his last game for Chicago, and believes he left his heart on the field all season.
The Bears have the number one draft pick in 2024 after trading with the Panthers earlier in the year and a potential new QB is touted.
The Bears lost 17-9 to the playoff bound Packers, gaining only 192 yards in total.
Chicago finished bottom of the NFC North with a 7-10 record but after a nightmare opening eight weeks, it could have been much worse.
“I gave it my all,’’ Fields told Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times. ‘‘Whether here or not, I have no regrets.’’
The QB is like the Jeffersons, and believed he is moving on up.
‘I’m headed up,’’ Fields said. ‘‘I felt growth this year each and every game. I’ve been feeling it, really, since I got back from injury. I’ve gotten better tremendously.”
The Bears are a side on the up and with some careful offseason management could be a playoff contender next season, whether it is with Fields or with someone like Caleb Williams, who could go number one in the draft, remains to be seen.
