Patriots HC Bill Belichick loses his 178th NFL game, tying him for second most losses – to go with his second most wins record

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has made unwanted history when he joined the list as the HC with the joint most losses in regular season NFL history.

The legendary eight-time Superbowl winner, six with New England, lost his 178th game to the Jets in week 18 tying him with Tom Landry.

It must be remembered that Belichick is 71 years old and has picked up 302 regualr season wins, which puts him in third place in all time wins, behind Don Shula (328) and George Halas (318).

If you count post season wins, Belichick, on 333 is second behind Shula on 347.

Belichick could be without a team next season after leading New England to a disastrous 4-13 season.

Whether he still has 15 wins in him is debatable but it would be cool to see him number one.

The loss to New York was his 165th regular-season loss, moving him into a three-way tie with Dan Reeves and Jeff Fisher for the most regular-season losses.
