The Cleveland Browns are 11-6 currently and are standing second in the AFC North division. They are currently preparing to face the Houston Texans, who are 10-7 for the season and in the AFC South division, they are in the first spot.
The teams will headlock for the NFL wild-card round game and Joe Flacco, Super Bowl champion, will start for the Browns. According to Pro Football Talk, the last playoff game he started was for the Baltimore Ravens, his first team, in 2015. He was with the Ravens from 2008-2018.
Flacco’s starting difference between two playoff games is the second-longest in the history of the league, considering the quarterback position. As per Yahoo Sports, Flacco has won seven playoff games and is tied with Tom Brady’s record.
Flacco had shared regarding achieving this feat and winning, “It just goes back to doing the basics the right way, not overthinking what it means to go on the road, just going and playing a good football game. And when the dust settles, pick your head up and see where you are.”
The Browns acquired one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league in November when their star quarterback, Deshaun Watson, suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. The turnaround the Browns faced with Flacco was incredible, as they had advanced with his addition.
The Texans quarterback, C.J. Stroud, is another promising talent rising in the league and the face-off with 38-year-old veteran and prominent quarterback Flacco is highly anticipated. As per PFT, other age disparities were between Tom Brady and when he faced players such as Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, and Jared Goff.
