On Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks announced their head coach Pete Carroll has been discontinued from his role and will not return next season.
After a long 14 seasons with the team, Coach Carroll gave an emotional farewell as he moved on to an advisory role for the organization. His records include two NFC championships and a Super Bowl Title.

According to the Seattle News Tribune, on Wednesday night, Carroll was joined by several members of Seattle’s 2013 Super Bowl team for a late-night dinner.
Hours after the news broke out of his departure from the team, Carroll joined the dinner at Legion Sports Bar in Bellevue, including former Seahawks Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and former Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson.
In an interview with Seattle Sports 710 AM station aired on Friday, the coach shared on the night and some details were revealed. As shared, the invitations to the gathering were sent throughout the day to current and former players.
Carroll shared, that he wanted to see if “we can get the band back together” and that “guys just started showing up out of nowhere.”
The private party was posted on social media by the 2013 team’s quarterback, now-Denver Broncos signal-caller Russell Wilson, and other members of the famed “Legion of Boom”.
Coach Carroll told a Seattle radio station Thursday,
“It was great to see those guys, great to see Russ. I’m walking out the door at the end of it, and we’re getting ready to go and Richard and Russell are standing in the doorway and they both look at me and say, look what had to happen for you to get us two talking to one another and having fun? It was a great moment.”
