On Sunday night, the Detroit Lions made a historic win in the playoff game for the first time in 32 years, with the victory against the Los Angeles Rams 24-23.

In their NFC Wild Card battle at Ford Field, the NFC North Champions, the Lions, advance to the divisional round and break the 30-year-long playoff hoodoo.

As they ended the longest postseason victory drought in any of the four major four domestic sports leagues, they look forward to another home playoff game next week at Ford Field.

Breaking the silence over the win, GM Brad Holmes unleashed all the excitement as he screamed aloud in an elevator full of Lions’ staff.

In a clip posted by Mark Person on X, Holmes was captured celebrating with emotions in the middle of the crowded elevator, just screaming his lungs out.

Evidently a big game for Holmes, he has spent 18 years with the franchise and finally secured a historic win after 30-plus seasons.

Holmes his first season as Lions GM, Detroit ended with a 3-13 record, and in 2022 ended with a 9-8 record. In 2023, seems to be ready to contend for the Vince Lombardi Trophy that is now just a few wins away from the franchise.

The Lions clinched a win in the playoffs for the first time since 1992, it all started after finishing on top of the NFC North division with a 12-5 record in the 2023 NFL regular season.

Lions coach Dan Campbell said in the locker room 24-23 playoff win,

“I’m telling you what, it doesn’t get any better. It’s everything you dream of and more.”
