Rams QB Matthew Stafford Addresses Injury Concerns After Game: “I took a shot to the ribs and to the head, but I felt fine”

The Los Angeles Rams were defeated in the NFL wild-card round game by the Detroit Lions and the concluding score after the fourth quarter was 24-23. The victorious Lions are 13-5, whereas the Rams, after giving an incredible fight, see the end of their season.

However, the Super Bowl champion and NFL Comeback Player of the Year 2011, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, went through tough times during the game against the Lions.

Stafford suffered setbacks in the game as he had received treatment when his throwing hand was injured; the injury happened early in the game. Later on, during one of the plays, Stafford took another major hit from both sides.

His helmet bounced off the ground and his stance was similar to when one suffers a concussion. Stafford was seen struggling as he went off the field clutching his hand; however, he later declared that he was alright.

According to Pro Football Talk, Stafford shared, “I took a shot to the ribs and to the head, but I felt fine, came back in, felt good.”

The blow to the head and concussion-like symptoms always raise particular concerns due to the rules and regulations stated for the players who sustain these types of injuries. However, the medical staff let Stafford go back into the game as soon as he was cleared and he shared that he was feeling alright.

However, despite Aidan Hutchinson’s delayed touch, which resulted in a direct impact on Stafford’s helmet, no flags were given for the play. The quarterback was also trodden on accidentally as well.
