Steve and Brian Belichick Offered Chance to Rejoin Patriots for 2024 Season, suggest reports

The New England Patriots concluded their season with a score of 2-10 and were last in the AFC East division. The organization, after many successes with head coach Bill Belichick, is now going in different directions.

Belichick departs from the Patriots; however, his two sons, Steve Belichick and Brian Belichick, have both received coaching opportunities from the franchise. According to SI, for the next season, they both have been given opportunities and they can return to the organisation’s coaching staff.

If they both accept, then they will be working under the newly appointed head coach, Jerod Mayo. According to Albert Breer, “One other thing worth noting is that Belichick’s sons, defensive play-caller and linebackers coach Steve, and safeties coach Brian, have both already been offered the opportunity to return to the team for 2024. Mayo and the elder son (Steve) have grown close as they’ve collaborated to run the Patriots’ defense the past five years.”

As per the report, Brian Belichick was acquired by the Patriots in 2016 and has been serving as the squad’s safety coach for the last four seasons. Belichick’s other son, Steve, was acquired by the squad in 2012. He began his journey by being a coaching assistant and then became the linebacker’s coach.

He has worked with the new head coach of the Patriots and they both were fundamental in making the squad’s performance impressive in the 2019 season.

However, it is still unknown if Belichick’s son would follow him if he agreed to coach another team. However, if that doesn’t work out, his sons can stay with the Patriots and work towards another season under the new head coach, Jerod Mayo.
