The Golden State Warriors are facing a passable season and not the successful results they expected. They are currently occupying the twelfth position in the Western Conference and in the season, they are 18-21.
Mike Dunleavy Jr., who is the general manager of the Golden State Warriors, has recently revealed that the squad highly values both Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga.
Kuminga was selected by the Warriors in the 2021 NBA Draft as the first round’s seventh overall pick. He is currently in his third season with the team. His average in thirty-eight games with the Warriors squad is 13.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. His percentage rates from the three-point range and field are 31.3% and 51.4%, respectively.
Whereas, Moody has an average of 8.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He was selected in the 2021 NBA Draft in the first round as the 14th overall pick. He is also in his third season with the Warriors.
Sam Vecenie of The Athletic shares, “You also won’t see Jonathan Kuminga or Moses Moody, two young Golden State Warriors players who could be used to facilitate a deal for a star player. I don’t think the Warriors have ruled out moving them, but my impression, at least currently, is that they aren’t actively including them in potential trade packages either.”
“League sources believe new general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. values both at a very high level and would love to hold onto them if he can, even if he also understands one or both may need to be the mechanism to facilitate much-needed changes with the slumping Warriors. It’s possible one or both of Kuminga and Moody feature on future iterations of this board, but that’s the reasoning I used to hold them off for now.”
He further states, “The general feeling around the league is that the Warriors are open for business and are willing to discuss a variety of different players to shake things up after a rough start to the season.”
“However, Golden State is not enthusiastic about potentially moving youngsters Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly. Neither is off the table if the right deal comes along, but it would be unfair to say they’re on the block at this stage, even as the Warriors look to alter their roster.”

NBA insider Marc Stein has also shared the trade talk involving Andrew Wiggins and as per the BR report, he shared, “Wiggins is seen by some observers as the most likely Warrior to be traded in the wake of Golden State’s 18-21 start.”
“He’s in the first season of a four-year, $109 million deal—which is generally regarded as a quite reasonable contract in today’s NBA marketplace—but the challenge for the Warriors has been creating a market for him after Wiggins’ downturn in production over the past season and a half.”
