Troy Aikman Draws Parallel Between Eagles’ Season and Struggling 2-15 Carolina Panthers – “You’re no different than the New England (Patriots), Carolina (Panthers)”

The Philadelphia Eagles were defeated in the NFL wild-card round game, which was against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with a score of 32-9. The Buccaneers are standing at 10-8 and are occupying the first spot in the NFC South. The season of Eagles, however, has concluded with a disappointing turn.

ESPN’s Troy Aikman recently shared his opinions during the NFL Wild Card broadcast and said, "Having been on this end of it, when you get to the postseason, and you lose the first round, it is an empty feeling. And, when you had the expectations that the Eagles had this year, you’re no different than the New England [Patriots], Carolina [Panthers] or any of these other teams that didn’t have near the season, didn’t win near the games. But the only thing you have to say for your year is you got to play one more game than they did."

The Philadelphia Eagles, under head coach Nick Sirianni, had found multiple successes; however, the squad was not able to maintain that same vitality in the later part of the season. The expectations from the squad were high and receiving unfavourable results have led to their failure this season.

Aikman has compared the Eagles to the Carolina Panthers, who had a low season and were eliminated earlier. However, the Carolina Panthers are building their team around Bryce Young, who had a dismal season, whereas the Eagles lineup is talentedly built up.

The ESPN analyst also compared the Eagles to the New England Patriots, who had a trodden season that would later become the last season with their former long-standing head coach Bill Belichick.
