The New York Mets have signed 16-year-old Vladi Miguel Guerrero, the older brother of Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the son of Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero.
The younger Guerrero was one of the players signed by the Mets when the international signing period opened on Monday.
According to The Athletic’s Will Sammon, Guerrero is an outfielder/first baseman with medium power to the left side of the plate.
Samson said the Mets must come to an agreement with the youngster when the signing period opens.
The New York Mets have signed infielder Vladi Miguel Guerrero from the Dominican Republic, the company announced in a press conference on Monday.
According to Frances Romero, Guerrero will receive a $100,000 signing bonus.
The Mets expect to sign 20 players on Monday, including four players in MLB Pipeline’s top 50 in the world, according to Metsmerized’s Mike Mayer.
Vladi Miguel is Guerrero’s third son to sign with an MLB club, while Pablo Guerrero signed with the Texas Rangers signed a $97,500 contract through 2023.
If he’s anything like his father or brother — who had 449 hits and 130 major league hits, respectively — the Mets may have found a great addition to their roster going forward.
Vladi Miguel is 16 years old and could serve as an outside hitter or starter as his career progresses.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., a Dominican Canadian professional made his grand debut in April this year.
Although Vladimir has a very busy personal life, he has three daughters, Vleidy, Vlaimi and Sofia. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was born in Montreal. He has a wealthy family.
He is the son of Baseball Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero Sr. Riquelma learned French in Montreal and moved to the Dominican Republic with her son.
The couple often spent time in Montreal, where Riquelma lived with her father. Like his father, Guerrero Jr. was the most important player in the Toronto Blue Jays’ minor league complex.
Guerrero Jr.’s father honed his skills in the minor leagues before pitching in the majors. Guerrero Jr. often accompanied his father to baseball games.
Guerrero hit his first major league home run on May 14, 2003. A notice was sent to MLB.
Vladimir Guerrero has another son signed with the New York Mets. Vladi Miguel Guerrero, the 16-year-old son of the Hall of Famer, signed a contract during Monday’s international signing period that includes $117,000 signing bonus and a $60,000 bonus, according to Z101 Digital reporter Héctor Gomez.
He is one of 20 players the Mets plan to sign on Monday, according to Metsmerized’s Mike Mayer. Guerrero is not considered the same as his older brother, Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
However, scouts who spoke to several reporters, including Joel Sherman of the New York Post and Will Salmon of the Athletic, praised the Dominican Republic player’s condition.

Scouts who have seen Vladi play describe him as a physical left-handed hitter with the ability to hit in the middle of the lineup. At the time, a National League scout told Sherman that Guerrero was “very ambitious.”
“He’s not the same as Vlad Jr., he’s more aggressive than offensively, but he’s got to watch his body, he’s a good athlete, so there’s the same concerns. ‘I hear thunder to my left.’ Another power hitter is on the way that MLB fans don’t want to hear about, even if it’s not the same pure hitter. Vladi is not the only son of Guerrero in the group of children.”

The Guerrero family is trying to add another member to their MLB roster, and the New York Mets are helping them out.
New York signed Vladi Miguel Guerrero, 17, on MLB’s International Signing Day on Monday, becoming the third child of the Hall of Famer to accomplish the MLB feat.
The 2004 American League MVP was a nine-time All-Star and an eight-time Silver Slugger.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been a cornerstone of the Toronto Blue Jays franchise since joining the club in 2019.
Guerrero Jr. appeared in the last three All-Star Games and won the Silver Slugger Award and Gold Glove.
Guerrero’s other son, Pablo, signed a contract with the Texas Rangers as an international free agent in 2023.
Now Vladi Miguel will try to progress through the Mets minor league system and join his father and brother at the All-Star level.
Last year, the San Diego Padres signed the top prospect in the class, Venezuelan catcher Ethan Salas, and he had an amazing debut, reaching the Double-A level at the age of 17.
The Padres also signed one of the top players in the class, Leodalis DeVries. The Warriors also signed Jose Perdomo on the first day of the draft.
Earlier on Signing Day, the Mets confirmed two exciting prospects from the Dominican Republic: center fielder Edward Lantigua and 1B/OF Freddy Miguel Gray Vladi Miguel Guerrero, son of Hall of Fame pitcher Vladimir Guerrero.
Elder Guerrero attended his son’s signing ceremony. Vladi Guerrero is known for his power.
Many consider Lantigua to be the best prospect; he’s one of the few players the Mets should sign on their 50-man roster this season.

He looks far mature for a 16 year old. Something doesn’t appear to be adding up here…

Mets pulling a 90s Dodgers and possibly picking up the crappy brother: Wilton Guerrero, Mike Maddux and Chris Gwynn.
