New York Knicks Open to Offers for Quentin Grimes Amidst Playing Time Concerns

The New York Knicks are fifth in the Eastern Conference and for the season, they are 24-17. The Knicks are reportedly “actively fielding offers” regarding Quentin Grimes, their guard.

According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, “The Knicks are actively fielding offers for the former first-round pick, according to rival executives who have been in contact with New York’s front office.”

He further shares, “The 23-year-old has fallen out of favor with head coach Tom Thibodeau of late, losing the starting shooting guard job to Donte DiVincenzo on Dec. 8 and seeing his playing time decrease from 30 minutes a game in 2022-23 to 17 since moving to the second unit.”

Grimes’ last game was against the Milwaukee Bucks and his average last season was 11.3 points with a shooting percentage of 38.6 percent. However, since coming on this season, his presence has been impressive.

As per basketball reference, his average is 12.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in thirty-six minutes. However, Grimes had earlier shared about his annoyance, “It feels like if I don’t hit the shot, I’m coming out. So every shot I shoot probably weighs like 100 pounds if I don’t make it, and our defense, it ain’t cutting it, so I know I ain’t going back in.”
