MMA fans are now familiar with Sean Strickland’s statement and have grown accustomed to his wild and bizarre remarks. A few years back, he stated if he had a homosexual son, that would mean he had failed as a man.
"You ask me some stupid sh*t like that? Go f*ck yourself."

Yet again, on Wednesday, Strickland, the current UFC Middleweight Champion, talked about some of the most homophobic and anti-LGBTQ views by a professional athlete.
Ahead of UFC 297, MMA journalist Alex Lee, a Toronto resident and writer at Outsports’ sister site MMA Fighting, asked Strickland about his earlier statements.
In response to Lee’s question and his press on Strickland’s thoughts on the LGBTQ community, Strickland reacted by saying
“The world is not buying the bullsh*t you’re f*cking pedaling. The world is not saying, You know what? You’re right. Chicks have d*cks. The world is not saying that. The world is saying, No, there are two genders. I don’t want my kids being taught about who they can f*ck in school. I don’t want my kids being taught about their sexual preference.”
In the aftermath, Lee told Outsports and shared,
“I come from a city that has a very strong LGBTQ community. I’ve never been comfortable with a lot of fighters’ stances on LGBTQ issues, and he’s been worse than most. I felt it was my responsibility to communities in the city of Toronto to ask these questions.”
Strickland returns to the Octagon at UFC 297 this weekend in Canada and will take, Dricus du Plessis in the first attempted defense of his divisional crown.
Back in September, he won undisputed middleweight gold at UFC 293 over former two-time champion, Israel Adesanya, a unanimous decision wins over the City Kickboxing staple.
