The impressive season of the Houston Texans came to an end as they were defeated in the divisional round match-up against the Baltimore Ravens. The Texans squad led by talented rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud is reportedly optimistic and also confident for the upcoming season.
They were heading into the season with a first-year head coach, DeMeco Ryans, and a rookie quarterback, but their efforts turned the tide in their direction, and the squad gave one of the best prospects, heading far in games.
The rising talent was very well seen in their lineup, as it included youthful capacity and impressively used it to their advantage. Along with Stroud, defensive end Will Anderson Jr. made an impressive debut. Stroud has already reached several rookie NFL records, whereas Anderson has also achieved a rookie record with seven sacks.
Maliek Collins, the defensive tackle regarding the future, also shared via the official site, “I feel like this year was a stepping stone in the right direction. We’re going to continue to strive for that. Everything’s possible. Everything’s out there.”
The Houston Texans were advancing with wins and also clinched the AFC South divisional title. Will Anderson Jr. further shared, “I don’t think people understand how much better we’re going to be next year. It’s so easy to come into this place and really just connect with the guys in here and be able to come into the culture that’s been built here and how to operate throughout that culture. It’s all just mindset and mentality.”
Stroud also shared, “We’re really close and that chemistry has shown on the field and we’re going to build that, if you know what I’m saying. It’s going to happen naturally though because we’re boys and you don’t force stuff with your boy. We both are tremendously excited to keep this going and work really hard to be great, and hopefully do whatever we need to do to be great here and we’re excited for that.”
The first-year head coach, Ryans, also further shared regarding his squad, “Moving into the future and next year, we like where we are with the young nucleus of guys that we have. I feel like we have a good group to build off of, and you still have to add more pieces. You’re always adding and always looking to acquire talent and get better, and that’s where we’ll look to spend our offseason. Who can we find to help us get better?”
