Peyton Manning isn’t the only quarterback from the 1994 Tennessee Volunteers celebrating Hall of Fame status. Todd Helton, Manning’s former college teammate, secured his spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday. Manning extended his congratulations to Helton, highlighting their shared time on the Volunteers football team in the 1990s.

While both were part of the Vols’ football squad, Helton made a successful shift to a baseball career. Manning, on the other hand, went on to become an NFL legend, earning Hall of Fame honors, five MVP awards, and two Super Bowl championships.

The induction marked a significant achievement for Helton, who played for the Colorado Rockies from 1997 to 2013. His baseball career boasted notable accomplishments, including a batting title, four Silver Slugger awards, three Gold Gloves, and five All-Star selections. Helton concluded his career with impressive stats, slashing .316/.414/.539 with 369 home runs and 1,406 RBI.

Now, both former college teammates share the distinction of being Hall of Famers in their respective sports.
