Antonio Spurs rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama is making waves not only for his exceptional skills on the court but also for his disciplined lifestyle choices. One of his unique rules has caught the attention of Spurs staff, as he enforces a strict “no calls after 9:30 p.m.” policy.
Spurs director of basketball communications, Jordan Howenstine, revealed that this specific time window is dedicated to an essential part of Wembanyama’s routine, reading for an hour before heading to bed. The team has collectively embraced this rule, ensuring that calls to the rising star are avoided during this crucial period.

NFL legend Tom Brady praised Wembanyama’s approach on his “Let’s Go” podcast in November.
“I just loved his approach, he gets to bed early, and he’s surrounded by his friends, he doesn’t get into too much and is really willing to be coached,” Brady remarked.
The discipline doesn’t stop with Wembanyama. Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, another rising star, has also adopted a similar sleep schedule. Nacua shared with reporters in October that he adheres to a 9 p.m. bedtime every night, attributing his advantage to playing home games in the Pacific time zone.
Wembanyama’s commitment to routine, coupled with his innate talents, has translated into a stellar rookie campaign. At just 20 years old, he is averaging nearly 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists, leaving a significant mark on the NBA landscape.
