The Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh had a stellar season and under his tutelage, the Michigan squad went on to secure their national title, which was last won in 1997.
Harbaugh has now joined the NFL and has become the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers squad has recently announced that they have landed the highly sought-after coach. The squad is also charged with enthusiasm, as many were eyeing the coach but they were the ones to land the successful deal.

ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum has been one of Harbaugh’s detractors and he recently appeared on the network’s show “First Take” and shared about the consequences Harbaugh’s moves will have on college football and further regarding his new position as the head coach of the Chargers.
According to Mlive, Finebaum shared, “I think it’s a positive, frankly. I hate to interrupt the coronation here of a new Pope, but let’s remember a couple of things about Jim Harbaugh: He was at Michigan nine years. The first six years weren’t exactly virtuoso. He nearly got fired… and then the last three years were brilliant. Everyone agrees with that. That’s why we’re celebrating him today, and we should celebrate him. But he’s leaving behind a mess.”
Michigan came under NCAA investigation regarding suspected illegal sign-stealing. Due to this, Harbaugh was also suspended from the last three games of the regular season.
However, the Wolverines prevailed in those games and went on to reach the finals, winning the title undefeated 15-0. The penalties for now are unknown as to what Michigan could come under sans Harbaugh. With him, their record of nine seasons stands at an impressive score of 89-25 including three conference titles.
The ESPN analyst further expressed, “I realize he won the national championship and that’s so easy to celebrate, but there are two separate NCAA investigations ongoing and will be adjudicated, and I think in some ways, that’s a positive for Michigan that, without him around, they will probably skate much easier in the new modern world of the NCAA.”

“He was larger than life, and with Nick Saban exiting two weeks ago, Jim Harbaugh was the biggest name in the game. From a marquee value, the sport loses that, especially now that the Big Ten has added the four Pac-12 members. I think he always wanted to go. He never quite got over, in my estimation, losing the Super Bowl.”
Regarding Michigan and its future, he said, “Michigan is going to be OK. Sherrone Moore is going to be elevated in a couple of days, once they meet the legal requirement. He did a spectacular job on the field. The players like him. The biggest change for Michigan, they will probably hold on to most of their roster, unlike Alabama, who in the last few weeks has seen massive carnage.”
