Italian Jannik Sinner makes history – dethrones Novak Djokovic in four sets in the Australian Open semi-finals

Defending Australian Open Tennis championship Novak Djokovic has been dethroned by rising Italian star Jannik Sinner.

Djokovic holds the record for the most Grand Slam titles and lost an opportunity to earn a record extending 25th.

Sinner becomes the first Italian player to reach the final of the opening Major of the year, defeating the Serbian mega star 6-1, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3.

Djokovic had an unreliable 2023 winning the Australian Open, the French Open, and the US Open.

There is a new chasing pack of 2ooves snapping at the heels of Djokovic and Spanish sensation Raphael Nadal.

Sinner started strongly, picking up the first two sets easily before a late fightback from Novak, but it was a little to late as Sinner picked up the win in the fourth set.
