“It’s making him go east to west and making him throw the football” – Taylor Lewan thinks the best way to stop Lamar Jackson is to test his arm despite Ravens QB’s stellar passing stats

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens are set to face off in the AFC Championship, with both teams vying for a ticket to the Super Bowl. The stage is set for an epic showdown between two of the NFL"s most electrifying quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.

Former NFL offensive lineman Taylor Lewan, speaking on Up & Adams, outlined what he believes is the strategy for stopping Lamar Jackson. “The formula for beating Lamar [Jackson] is making him go east and west, and make him throw the football," Lewan said.

He also highlighted the challenge of facing Mahomes, emphasizing the need for the right athletes to neutralize the Chiefs" quarterback.

As the No. 1 seed Ravens, Lamar Jackson has been in MVP form, leading his team to a prime position for a Super Bowl run. However, Lewan"s “formula" for stopping Jackson has proven elusive for many teams this season.

Jackson"s ability to excel both as a passer and a runner has made him a dual-threat quarterback, posing challenges for opposing defenses.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, faced struggles during the 2023 regular season but have found momentum at the right time. Mahomes and the Chiefs are hitting their stride, showcasing the explosive offense that made them Super Bowl champions.

The AFC Championship matchup promises to be a thrilling contest between two powerhouse teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET in Baltimore, and football fans are eagerly awaiting the outcome of this high-stakes showdown that will determine which team earns the right to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
