On Thursday, ex-WWE staffer Janel Grant filed a lawsuit alleging WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon sexually abused her and sex trafficked her to others within the company.
She also alleges in her lawsuit that agreed payments had stopped after an initial $1 million payment, hence she is seeking to sue for unspecified damages.
As per Khadeeja Safdar of the Wall Street Journal, it was reported Grant signed a nondisclosure agreement in 2022 under which she agreed to remain silent about her allegations and her relationship with McMahon in exchange for $3 million.
Safdar also reports Grant alleges in the lawsuit that McMahon had compelled her
“Create personalized sexual content for a WWE superstar that he was trying to re-sign. The suit didn’t name the professional wrestler but described him as both a UFC fighter and WWE talent. People familiar with the matter identified the wrestler as Brock Lesnar, one of WWE’s biggest names.”
As bolded in the lawsuit along with McMahon, former WWE head of talent relations John Laurinaitis were named as defendants.
Grant accused McMahon of forcing pressured her into sexual encounters and degrading her in exchange for giving her a job at WWE as administrator-coordinator in WWE’s legal department after meeting her in 2019.
The lawsuit was filed on Thursday in a Connecticut federal court, mentioned that Grant was hired by McMahon in 2019. She said in the lawsuit,
“But what seemed like a dream in the spring of 2019 quickly became a nightmare.”
In 2022, McMahon stepped back as CEO of WWE and retired from WWE, before his retirement as the lawsuit claimed McMahon forced Grant to sign a nondisclosure agreement in January 2022.
