According to Adrian Wojnarowski, "ESPN story on Knicks" Julius Randle expected to be out weeks, not months with dislocated shoulder"
However, as per Wojnarowski’s report, the player went for an MRI on Saturday and the evaluation of his injury is continuing but there are good chances that Randle might be able to avoid surgery on his dislocated right shoulder.
The New York Knicks, who are fourth in the Eastern Conference and 29-17 for the season, were able to defeat the Miami Heat with a concluding score of 125-109. During the same match, Randle suffered an injury when he fell on his right shoulder with force; however, his chances were saved since he is a left-handed player.
With an average of 24 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists currently, Randle’s efforts have been instrumental for the Knicks this season. The talented 29-year-old power forward has participated in all the Knicks games this season, as per ESPN.
The head coach of the New York Knicks since 2020, Tom Thibodeau, according to ESPN regarding Randle’s injury, shared, "You knew for him to do that [it might be serious]. He"s a guy who plays through things, and that"s what you love about him. He"s a warrior."
Brunson also expressed, "We don"t want to see that from anybody, especially him with how he"s been playing. He means a lot to us. So for him to go back there, obviously it"s not ideal."
The Knicks have been having success with the trio of Randle, Jalen Brunson, and OG Anunoby and have posted more wins than losses. However, it will be seen how the Knicks handle his presence and try their best to maintain the number once the star player comes back into the action on the court.
