The rumors surrounding Taylor Swift being in the NFL are annoying on many levels, especially when it comes to what sponsors are or are not showing her.
There was a lot of reaction to that, from the media to the head coach, from the media to the fans.
There’s one thing that’s not often discussed in the “show her too much!” discussion. “No, no.” That’s a lot of media coverage of music star Swift, who played the game to support her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
For all of the panicked people thinking the sport of football has been ruined forever, CBS actually showed Taylor Swift for a mere 44 seconds on Sunday. 🔽https://t.co/GLlMllqK98

Yes, Swift’s seven shots is a lot, and she probably took more shots than any other senior player. Yes, it’s play time and shopping time. And the number of real games and real options is limited.
That fact shows that this isn’t a ton of pictures of Swift on the game show. (It’s important to note, though, that most of Swift’s comments weren’t about sports, but about social media images, photos of her phone, photos of her taken, etc.).
People will always debate whether CBS should have spent 44 seconds airing Taylor Swift’s sports show. Some Swift fans might be angry, especially in a game where Kelce had a stellar performance, finishing with 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown, breaking Jerry Rice playoff record. (Of course, if the idea was to appeal to Swift’s non-football fans, you’d need more than 44 seconds to do it.
Taylor Swift braved subzero temperatures to cheer on Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce during the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Buffalo Bills on a Sunday at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
They played in the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, January 28th in Baltimore.
The singer was also present in the AFC Wild Card game between the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs on January 13, which was the fourth coldest game in NFL history.
Ahead of Sunday’s game, the Bills and concessionaire operator Delaware North announced that select locations at Highmark Stadium will offer menus inspired by Swift’s biggest hits.
Swift, who has been in a relationship with Travis Kelce for several months, attended her first Chiefs game in September. Since then, she has played in several matches, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.
Other celebrities including Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Hugh Jackman (all friends of Swift) also attended Chiefs games this season.
This season, fans held up several signs at Chiefs games referencing the singer’s relationship with Kelce. On Sunday, some Bills fans held signs saying they were at the game “for Taylor.”
The Chiefs player said he has been on the “roller coaster of life” since Swift first appeared at one of his games.
Fans had this to say:
44 more seconds than necessary though

That may be, but they cut to her a minimum of 10 times.

43 seconds too long
— 🇨🇴 (@bigrafael76) January 30, 2024
show her all game long
— Carmy (@OGKidCarmy) January 30, 2024
How about they show her for 0 seconds? It’s just really tired at this point. No one cares.

Heard shes surprising everyone at the super bowl for a halftime performance

People just like to get upset is the takeaway

I noticed that. Hopefully even less for the Super Bowl. CBS knows they should focus on the actual game.

And 6 seconds was Taylor saying to the camera. Please go away

Looking forward to Super Bowl LVIII with Taylor Swift, KC Chiefs and SF 49ers.
Also: before you refill your snack bowl, catch Usher at half time….— Peter Diespecker (@PDiespecker) January 30, 2024
Curious – can someone measure the amount of crowd / owner shots during the game. I bet it’s way more than 44 seconds. Fans are shown throughout the game. This happens to be a pretty darn famous fan.
