In a recent interview with ESPN, Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce expressed his regret at not being able to attend the upcoming Grammy Awards with Taylor Swift.
The reason behind this decision, as Kelce explained on the interview, is the conflicting schedule with Super Bowl preparations.
“I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys, and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for,” Kelce said. “But I think I’ve got practice on Sunday.”
Despite his desire to support Swift and witness her potential victories at the Grammys, Kelce noted the importance of practicing for the big Super Bowl game.
The 66th Annual Grammy Awards are set to take place on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Taylor Swift has garnered seven nominations for her song “Anti-Hero,” breaking a record by being the first songwriter to achieve this feat in the Song of the Year category.
Her other nominations include Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Looking ahead, Super Bowl LVIII, the pinnacle of American football for the 2023 season, is scheduled for February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
It features a rematch of Super Bowl LIV, with the San Francisco 49ers representing the NFC and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs from the AFC.
Notably, this Super Bowl will mark a historic occasion as the first one held in Nevada.
The game will be nationally televised by CBS and streamed on Paramount+, with an alternative broadcast on Nickelodeon and, for the first time, on the Spanish-language network Univision.
The kick-off is set for 3:30 pm PST.
Throughout the NFL regular season and post-season, Taylor Swift has been a visible supporter of Travis Kelce, cheering for him from the stands.
So, for Swifties, Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s absence at the Grammys would be a little heartbreaking.
