Michael Bublé’s Fantasy Hockey Interview Takes an Unexpected Turn into the World of Mushrooms

The NHL All-Star Game draft featured a lot of hockey talent, a few Canadian celebrities, and some embarrassing moments, but perhaps none was more embarrassing than Michael Bublé’s post-draft press conference.

Bublé, seated next to actor Will Arnett, turned a question about fantasy hockey into a story about “mushrooms” he may or may not have eaten before the event.

Arnett was well-placed to ensure the room didn’t embarrass itself further, jokingly saying Bublé had lost “a lot of income” over the mushroom comment.

Bublé was one of four Canadian stars to serve as celebrity captains in the All-Star Draft, along with Canucks players Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson.

Bublé’s comments may explain why he appears to have walked away from Team Hughes after the team was selected.

If so, Buble’s Mushrooms helped round out a roster that included Nikita Kucherov, Elias Pettersson, Brady Tkachuk, and Kyle Connor. With a win at All-Star Weekend, Bublé may have discovered the secret to putting together the right team.

The NHL All-Star Game held its draft today, with the captains of the four teams selecting their teams to participate in Sunday’s game at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. At the post-draft press conference, singer Michael Bublé stole the show.

Bublé, a prominent co-captain of Team Hughes (captained by New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes), is a notable co-captain of Team McDavid (captained by Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid), Will. -Sitting on the podium with Arnett.

“Michael, you brought up being number one in your fantasy hockey league tonight,” Larkin said. But I wanted to ask you, how did you use your fantasy knowledge to strategize in tonight’s draft?” Bublé took it from there.

“Matt, I play in multiple hockey leagues,”

he said. Next,

“I joined another fantasy hockey league, the FHL, for the first time.”

“I’m at the NHL All-Star Game”

The 48-year-old Canadian singer will be able to announce his role as captain of the celebrity team at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto on February 3rd. I’m excited.

Buble is excited to do his best at the event, as he will be competing against fellow Canadians and celebrity captains Justin Bieber, Will Arnett and Tate McRae.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Bublé said:

“I am a huge fan of the game and have always loved representing my country and my passion for this sport… I was thrilled to say yes to this opportunity.”

As for the NHL, this isn’t Bublé’s first rodeo.

“I was already an NHL player.”

The 2024 NHL All-Star mock draft will take place on Thursday at 6 p.m. EST, kicking off a weekend of festivities ahead of the All-Star Game on Saturday.

But regardless of the outcome, Bublé is “happy” to be here.

“I think this event is great… it helps to build and peak interest in the NFL,”

he says.

“We all want to win, I’m sure. But what I am excited for is having drinks and enjoying each other’s company. I’m competitive, but win or lose, I’m going to have a blast.”
