The WWE superstar and actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, recently received prominent backlash from the fans due to his current return to WWE SmackDown.
He appeared during the concluding segment of SmackDown on Friday and further confirmed that he would challenge Roman Reigns, who is the undisputed WWE champion. The Rock challenge to Reigns was also not liked on the YouTube platform and Platform X, formerly Twitter, Cody’s demand had gone up.
The Rock addressed the matter and shared his message regarding what happened, which attracted much attention. He said, “FEEL the mana. So f#%king blown away by this insane energy from the People. Undeniable – and one of the loudest ovations I’ve ever experienced in my career. Thank you Birmingham, Alabama, thank you WWE, thank you to the man himself, Cody Rhodes – and most importantly, thank you to the People. Our connection is unbreakable and our bond is ELECTRIC. ~ People’s Champ. ps, tough skin, love the passion.”
The Rock’s move had garnered criticism because he took Cody Rhodes’ position and the fans believed that Rhodes deserved to have the match and defeat Reigns. However, more confusion erupted as Cody himself stepped aside to let Johnson take his place.
The match between both superstars has yet to be made official and the potential is there that the match could happen at the WrestleMania kickoff press conference in Las Vegas.
