Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett and his wife, Jordanna, have been blessed with the arrival of a new baby girl named Allanah Ray.
Allanah took birth less than a year after the devastating loss of Shaquil and Jordanna’s 2-year-old daughter, Arrayah, in a tragic drowning accident.
Shaquil Barrett and his wife, Jordanna have been married for 12 years.
The pair already share three other children: sons Shaquil Jr. (11) and Braylon (10), along with an 8-year-old daughter named Aaliyah.
Tragedy struck the Barrett family on April 30, 2023, when their 2-year-old daughter Arrayah drowned in the family’s pool. Despite immediate efforts and being rushed to the hospital, Arrayah was pronounced dead.
Remarkably, within a few weeks following the heartbreaking loss, Shaquil and Jordanna received the news of Jordanna’s pregnancy.
Reflecting on the memories of his departed daughter, Shaquil Barrett shared a touching video in December 2022.
In the video, he wrote, “One of my favorite videos of my girl. Always put a smile on my face when I’m missing her. She was everything and you can see it in this video. We love you and miss you forever, my girl.”
Shaquil Barrett and his wife, Jordanna, are determined to turn their tragic experience into a positive force for others.
They’ve initiated a foundation called “Arrayah Hope” with a mission to offer free swim lessons to children in Tampa, Florida.
As reported by ESPN, the Barretts have a goal to create a positive influence and expand their initiative to Colorado, where Shaquil pursued his college education and started his NFL journey with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent.
