The New York Knicks are hitting heights that we have not seen in decades. The team has won 14 games in January, the highest number in any month since March 1994. They have won 9 of their last 10 games and are firmly in contention for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The fanfare in New York is extraordinary with the excitement surrounding this team reaching levels we have not seen since Linsanity. Even Stephen A. Smith is getting caught up in the commotion.

During Monday’s episode of First Take, the well-known sports personality called on four-time NBA MVP LeBron James to make the move to what he refers to as the “Mecca” of basketball. Smith made a passionate plea to Klutch Sports’ Rich Paul and James to join the Knicks.
Although a move seems highly unlikely, Stephen A. Smith put forward a compelling case.
“If he wants a better shot at a championship, I would say it is something he strongly should consider,” said Smith.
He goes on to talk about the team’s strong defense, rising star Jalen Brunson, and the Knick’s abundance of draft capital as other factors that could tempt the 20-time All-Star. Add to that the aura of playing at the historic Madison Garden and the idea of a move has to be tempting for LeBron James.
According to Stephen A. Smith, the Knicks need a “superstar” to take them over the hump.
LeBron James currently has four rings to his name but remains behind NBA legends such as Kobe Bryant (5) and Michael Jordan (6). James and New York could be a match that works out for both parties.
“I would love for King James to be in New York City,” concluded Smith.
