The Kansas City Chiefs will be the first NFL team to win back-to-back championships in 20 years if they can beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday.
During the Super Bowl 2024 Opening Night, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said the Chiefs would “put our stamp on NFL history”.
The Chiefs enter their fourth Super Bowl in his six seasons as a starter, and a win on Sunday will give them the third Super Bowl championship in the past five seasons.

On Monday’s Super Bowl opening night, Mahomes, soon to be one of the best quarterbacks of all time, gave his NBA comparison to one of the best point guards of all time.
When he was asked who he’d be like if he traded the gridiron for the hardwood on the Opening Night, he said,
“If I played basketball, I’d be just like Steph Curry. I got the shot. I just got to get a couple extra reps (and) a couple of shots up. I’d be shooting just like him. That’s who I’d be.”
As both the position of quarterback and point lead offensive attacks in their respective sports, Mahomes seemingly identified Curry as who he would play basketball like.
Chiefs QB is set to become the youngest quarterback in NFL history to start a fourth Super Bowl and the chance to win his third Super Bowl Sunday. Curry on the other has won four NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors. Mahomes has two NFL MVPs and Curry has two NBA MVPs.
As past have shown, Chief QB was a football, baseball, and basketball athlete at Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas. During high school senior year, he was named All-East Texas Most Valuable Player in basketball.
