Patrick Mahomes is heading to his fourth Super Bowl in the last five seasons and eyeing for his third title. The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers have arrived in Las Vegas to face off in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday.

New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley shared an uncommon prediction, he said he will not bet on Mahomes to walk out of Allegiant Stadium with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Barkley, appearing on ESPN’s “First Take” on Monday morning, predicted,

“If I was a betting man, I don’t think you bet against Patrick Mahomes, especially the way that defense is playing. They’re playing at a high level. But I’m biased. I’m a big Christian McCaffrey fan. I hate to say this, but he’s the best running back in the NFL right now. I’m going to go get him. So I’m going to go with San Fran.”

Traded on a blockbuster deal from the Carolina Panthers, McCaffrey as an RB for the 49ers has proven to be highly valuable.

He is leading the NFL in yards from scrimmage (2,023), tying for the lead in touchdowns (21), and generating the most first downs (114) in the regular season.

Also powered the 49ers to the Super Bowl in his first full season with the team, the organization has also helped the All-Pro running back unlock a historic play in 2023.

RB McCaffrey has racked up 2,023 yards from scrimmage in 16 appearances this season, earning a seat at the 2023 NFL MVP finalist table.
